World Schools (WS)

WS is the format used in the annual World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC), the most competitive school-level international tournament where each nation fields their very best team of three to five members. Every round in a WS tournament uses a different motion. Some of the motions are released weeks ahead and for the rest, teams are given as short as 30 minutes to prepare without Internet access after motion release. The format trains students to develop comprehensive, critical analysis on a variety of issues and stay consistent stylistically.

British Parliamentary (BP)

BP is the format used in the annual World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC), the most prestigious tertiary level tournament that would draw the attendance of almost all the top universities. Each team is composed of two members and four teams compete against one another in a round, with every round running a different motion. Teams are given 15 minutes to prepare without Internet access after a motion is given. The format trains students to dynamically adjust their cases according to how the round evolves and constantly challenges them to form increasingly nuanced perspectives.
